Conversions

A conversion occurs when a website visitor takes the desired action, transforming (converting, in fact) from a user into a customer or lead.

The type of action can vary depending on the goals of the site: it could be a purchase, signing up for a newsletter, downloading an e-book, filling out a form, or so on.

Conversion rate is a key indicator of the performance of a website or marketing campaign.
