Happy birthday SEOZoom: 10 years of vision, innovation, and determination
Simplifying the work of those who live and breathe data, reading Google through the eyes of those who do SEO every day, anticipating developments without just chasing after the latest trends. This is what has distinguished SEOZoom from day one, since December 15, 2015, when Ivano and Giuseppe released the software from beta for the first time, putting it and themselves to the test in an Italian market that, at the time, found itself in a paradoxical situation: we had powerful international software at our disposal, but it was blind to the nuances of our language and the operational needs of those working on our local SERPs.
It was time to give shape to a simple and ambitious intuition: to build the tools that we needed, that those who did SEO for real needed, on a daily basis, amid quick decisions and concrete problems. Ten years later, we find ourselves here, with the same drive as then and with a wealth of knowledge, experience, and history. A history made up of code, analysis, ideas born at dawn, endless discussions, users who have changed the platform more than you can imagine, and a market that has never ceased to surprise us.
Today, we celebrate our 10th anniversary with the certainty that we have transformed that initial gamble into a consolidated working method for thousands of professionals, and we are ready to move forward with the same ambition we had at the beginning, pioneers in deciphering the future of search and guiding you through the most radical change in the history of search, where Artificial Intelligence is rewriting the rules of visibility.
Building for ourselves was the guarantee for everyone
There is a substantial difference in the DNA of SEOZoom: it was not born in a financial meeting room, but in an agency, in the operational reality, on the PCs of those who optimize websites. Every single feature you have used over the years was not added to fill a commercial roadmap, but was designed as a direct response to problems we faced firsthand. We needed to understand the nature of a drop in traffic or identify opportunities invisible to other tools – the solution became code.
While in 2015 the market was obsessed with tracking individual positions for individual keywords, we shifted our focus. The first break with the past was page monitoring, proposing the transition from the atom (the keyword) to the real asset (the URL). It was the only way to truly understand how a single piece of content performed on an entire cluster of queries, overcoming the limited view of the dry keyword.
This adherence to reality allowed us to anticipate technical developments. When the industry was still counting backlinks, we introduced analysis of search intent, sensing that Google was becoming a semantic engine. On that basis, we developed Zoom Authority (ZA), necessary to measure real authority in the eyes of the engine, and tools such as SEO Spider and Time Machine were created to transform Google updates from threats into manageable variables. These were technical choices, but above all cultural ones: to stop asking “how much is this keyword worth” and start asking “what does the user need”.
Italian technology that breaks down barriers
We have chosen to remain faithful to this artisanal and technical nature, maintaining a direct and constant link with the operational reality of those who use the software. This identity is reflected in our decision to focus vertically mainly on the Italian market, which we know in all its linguistic and behavioral nuances.
While international players apply generic metrics on a global scale, we analyze the context in which you actually operate and provide you with absolutely accurate data, as well as support that speaks your language, eliminating the distance between those who develop the software and those who use it.
The democratization of tools is the other pillar of our strategy. We believe that the barrier to entry for high-level SEO should be expertise, never budget. Guaranteeing the same data quality and the same power of artificial intelligence to everyone, from freelancers to corporations, is our way of supporting digital growth in Italy: giving everyone the same tools to compete.
But this is not enough if we don’t teach people how to use them, which is why we created (and renovated last year) SEOZoom Academy, our continuing education space, the place where we transfer our method. Here we have collected teaching tools, webinars, tutorials, and live sessions born directly from the real problems faced every day by those who use the platform, with a view to sharing that aims to make the sector more mature and aware. Because those who possess knowledge need not fear any Google updates, AI, or the next unpredictable revolution.
SEO for AI is the vision, the natural evolution of our method
Birthdays, especially milestone ones, seem tailor-made for taking stock. If we look back, we see how different—in some ways simpler—the business used to be; if we look ahead, we see a totally changed world, where Artificial Intelligence makes searching a conversation in which the user seeks direct, summarized answers.
Our response to this scenario is SEO for AI, the strategic vision that guides us towards building brands that can be read and understood by machines. The operational arm of this vision is GEO (Generative Engine Optimization), an operating protocol that governs visibility on two parallel levels—model memory (LLM) and real-time search (RAG).
But be careful: GEO does not replace SEO, it elevates it. Artificial Intelligence continues to build answers by reading the web, and that web is mainly organized by Google. Without the content we position with traditional SEO, generative models would be empty boxes, and therefore SEO remains the necessary condition for existing (being found), while GEO is what allows you to stand out (be chosen as a source).
We have worked for months to translate this complexity into proprietary algorithms that work for you. Today, you have the tools to build a digital identity so solid that it becomes the preferred answer of ChatGPT, Gemini, and the new Google boxes, transforming the theory of Search Everywhere into practical daily actions.
With AI Engine, we bring query fan-out simulation to the platform, analyzing the process by which AI breaks down a complex question into dozens of micro-intents to show you exactly which concepts are missing from your page in order to be selected as the sole source. With GEO Audit, we work directly on the entity’s identity, verifying what the models already “know” about your brand and isolating knowledge gaps to correct the algorithm’s perception at the source. It’s the difference between suffering AI and using it: we give you the data to enter the models’ memory and dominate real-time synthesis.
The stable platform unifies workflows
The new official version of SEOZoom completes over a year of development focused on integration, because visibility today is fragmented across multiple channels and requires a single direction. We have redesigned the software architecture to offer you task-based workflows that overcome the division between tools that the industry was accustomed to—one for classic SEO, one for AI ranking, one for social listening, and another for ad analysis.
Today, SEOZoom puts SEO at the center of an architecture that encompasses search, content, data, social, AI, and advertising, all of which communicate seamlessly with each other, so you can see the whole picture and take consistent action without fragmenting your work (and time) across different software.
This is the new operating standard that we will be using in 2026 and beyond, allowing you to manage your entire digital presence from a single operating environment: with Ads Insight, you can decipher your competitors’ advertising strategies to understand where they are really investing and which messages convert; with AI Prompt Tracker, you can monitor whether your brand is mentioned in response when users ask complex questions to virtual assistants. Tools such as Opportunity Finder work across the board to identify growth opportunities left untapped by competitors, and the Social Media section integrates with traffic analysis to intercept demand wherever it arises. Act quickly and accurately on every front that generates value, without spreading your attention across different software.
Let’s open up the Observatory’s data to understand the future
And on December 12, during our birthday event at the Corte dei Leoni in Naples, we presented the SEOZoom Observatory, the resource that will accompany us towards 2026 and beyond. Now we can reveal it to you: the data, percentages, and trends from our latest studies on the impact of AI Overview in Italy or on the invasion of social content in SERPs came from here.
We wanted to give the whole industry a gift by opening up our databases, built up over ten years of scanning, to feed an analysis engine that monitors Google’s movements in real time. The Observatory acts as a seismograph that is always active on Italian SERPs: here you can consult the daily volatility to distinguish a normal adjustment from an algorithmic update, and drill down into the details of the Winners & Losers rankings to see, sector by sector, who is gaining visibility and who is falling.
True to our vision, we do not limit ourselves to classic rankings. The Observatory tracks the evolution of SERP Features, showing you live how the composition of the results page changes—how much space videos gain, where maps appear, and above all, how often and how intensely Google activates generative responses—allowing you to monitor over time the share of visibility that Google “gives” to social platform content or even examine who emerges on Google News.
It is the place where we transform the billions of signals we collect every day into accessible knowledge, allowing you to answer the most critical question of our work: “Did I lose traffic because I did something wrong, or because the market has changed?”
We started by building something that served our needs. We continue to develop it because it serves yours. These first ten years have been an incredible journey, driven by people even more than software. And the next ten years will continue along these lines, with tools that read reality and transform it into operational decisions. The search continues, and we are ready to tackle it together with you, one update at a time.
